Hi Guys,

I own a nice 1940 Chevy Coupe and purchased a pair of "Big Jim's" Tear Drop Fender Skirts. After receiving them, I called and asked if there were any instructions on installing them. He said there were no instruction, they just clamp on.

Well, I am fairly handy and built my Old School Chevy, but a little help from a drawing and or Photos would help. I really do not want to scratch my paint trying to figure out the correct way of clamping them.

Can you give me any help on the procedure?

I would use some type of tape to your nicely painted fenders as not to scratch the paint when fitting them onto your car.

Most fiberglass aftermarket body parts seem not to fit correctly & need triming & or adjusting things.

Looks like you need some type of pinch clamps to install them.
Maybe something like this but a little bit more HD heavy duty.

I would use some type of clear vinyl tape between the skirt & fender.

Thanks Hank. That might hold everything together long enough to clamp and tighten all the brackets

Beautiful car, by the way. What wheels/tires?

The wheels are from Pete Paulsen in California. They are "California Smoothies". I know Paul from way back and I asked if these are stock or custom made. He said that there was no problem making any custom offset/width you want as most of his wheels are custom made. No extra charge!

The fronts are 7" x 15" with an additional 1" offset to the front which make the backset 3". Tires are Diamondback Classics 205/60 x 15. (25" Tall)
The Rears are 8.5" x 15" with a 3.5" Backset. Tires are Diamondback Classics 275/75 x 15". (30" High)
