I ran my Hudson at the 1/8 mile drag strip last Thursday night. Here's what it did:
first pass:
r/t....660
60'...2.090
330'..5.863
1/8...9.048
mph...76.25

2nd pass:
r/t....695
60'...2.085
330'..5.811
1/8...8.972
mph...76.30

3rd pass:
r/t....492 (red light)
60'...2.166
330'..5.890
1/8...9.026
mph...77.90

We just race for fun, and to show that you dont have to have a 5.0 Mustang or a v8 Camaro to go fast. A lot of those guys can't beat us. (this is mostly street legal cars) I sure would like to see more inline cars racing in our area... Maybe someday...

Danny-

Was that done with a 308 and twin H-power or with the 7X engine?

I had a '52 Hollywood Hardtop with the 7-X motor, Dual Headers, and the 4 speed Hydro back in the 70's, and I was turning high 14's in the quarter mile. It was kicking butt on the street too. I wish I still had that car. It was light green over a dark green top. A real sweet car and quite the sleeper. The only giveaway from being stock was the dual exhaust and the sound of the glasspacks!

Long live the old Hudsons!

RapRap- it is a 7x engine in a '41 coupe. I'm running two Rochester 2g carbs, a Clifford head, isky 446 cam, and a "Hank The Crank" crankshaft modified to hold a SBC Fluid Damper.

raprap- Hot Rod did a mini-feature on it in the June, 2003 issue, if you have a copy of it... My scanner is down now, so I'll have to see what I can come up with to show you.
