I came across a website having to do with Anti-Clunker Legislation . This is an important issue to everyone in the antique vehicle hobby and industry. We need to all get involved in this to save our old "clunkers".

Dear Cletis;

This has been going on here in California for decades.

Recently the Legislature ammended the section in our Vehicle Code on the 30 limit for Smog tests. Now anything MFG in 1975 or after must get a SMOG test forever.

In the 80s they tried to get a Bill through forcing car owners to only buy parts from their Dealer.

Fortunately their to many "old car buffs" here to allow this BS.

As some of you may know,I have a good friend in Northern California that owns a wrecking yard that deals in old car and truck parts.There is another yard right behind him that the State of California is buying from the current owner.It will be building a large auto/truck recycling plant.No parts for sale.Just seperating metal,glass,rubber and other.The state will be buying and grabing older cars and trucks with unfair laws.Just remember the old saying (AS DOES CALIFORNIA,SO GOES THE REST OF THE NATION) Enjoy you new cars from China,Korea,Russia, Yada,Yada,Yada------
