Dear Tom;

When the BB was created (way back when)
the "bench racing" portion was created to
discuss ANYTHING, even tell some lies was
the general rule, plus the normal (civil
behavior) ones were still in place etc.

Then some dunce came along, (claiming to
be an Engineer, that was part of the Carter
Administration) that didn't like the topic
we had under discussion, at the time.

He wasn't a Club Memeber mind you, but he
cried, moaned, sniffeled and became a real
pain in the Webmaster's agenda. So the
Webmaster quit, instead of telling him
"Thanks good by and have a nice day"...

The topic (mine) had been running for over
two (2) years, with not ONE complaint prior
to this "politically correct dunce" making
a 'scene' over nothing.

So the Club appointed a "politicaly correct"
Webmasted & deleted my thread and It's 300+
postings W/O any warning or explantion.

Hence the end of 'free speedh' on the Bench
Racing Forum. Oh; & BTW the Duncecap that
started it all, never joined the Club or ever
posted here again.

The automotive topic was a running discusion
on SMOG 'devices' and how they affected the
Automotive industry here. It was titled; Big
Brother's SMOG Lie and was 100% accurate and
factual as well. This did not matter.

It didn't matter that I had assisted several
thousand members & guests for five (5) years
here either.

So; that's how you get your posts deleted.
Post the truth about what the government does
to our cars. It's not hard. It's politics.

I had a 1966 El Camino with a built up 400 small block that was a 1972 block. Everything passed smog except the visual and I was refused to pass. After about 6 visits to smog stations I finally found one that would pass it. The whole smog thing is bogus anyway, some models of cars in the late 70's or early 80's actually put out more polutants when calibrated as they require when less can be released when properly tuned. Some lobbyist for a smog pump manufacturer is responsible for getting the legislature to pass these laws, at least in California.

Dear CM;

That's where I based the discussion.

I was there in 1957-58 when it all began.
PCV was a good thing but all went "nuts"
afterward. Like you say the 70s era was
the worst.

Ya know the ZPE (zero pollution engine)
first came out in 1954 and by 1966 it met/
surpassed, all the proposed 70s standards.

It was quickly "disposed of" by the Gov. for
the mess we have today. It's all about money-
power-control. Air quality is of NO concern.

Damn, John it`s good to see you on the forum---your still right of course about the way things were done. I have to admit I have become close to John as an e-mail buddy and I am in his corner!!To bad things couldn`t go back the way they were---was it really all that bad.It sure was interesting to say the least.Many, many good points were talked about. Sometimes some toes were stepped on, but nobody was forced to look. I think a lot was learned on all sides and I would like to see John come back, he has a lot to offer...Thanks.....Lee

Now we're getting somewhere! Civil is a key word as is freedom. Rights come with responsibilities. We need to respect each other because those on this board have common interests but sometimes we just have to roll in our differences! I don't think Tim should have to baby sit us but political correctness is somewhat of a reality everywhere in this day and age. This is foremost an automotive BB that specializes in inlines but maybe it's time that we talk about why each of us comes here. We have different views of what should go on here and what should or should not be discussed. Cars are a huge part of our culture, economy. history, and future. John,It's good to see you. I think we can all be here, speak our minds, and still be civil, maybe even friends! Tom

ey, this is sort of fun John. Its great to mix it up on occasion

Right on 52er..Welcome back John H...A quote that came out of the Katrina storm "You just can't fix stupid" has helped me deal with some of this junk that goes on sometimes on this board. You just have to separate fact from ego sometimes. On the whole some great stuff.

John,
I am really glad to see you back on the BB. I always enjoyed your posts. Get that PG going?
Looking forward to more posts.

BOP, I do think we should can PC we are big boys and girls. The shift in PC has all walking a fine line. It drives me nuts, when we were kids you maybe got a bloody nose once in awhile, then you ended up best friends. Have our skins got so thin that some sort of criticism sets us off. A lot of people on this board are over 60, hell if you can`t take it by now it`s to late. We should single out the bad ones and tell them to pick up their toys and go home and come back when you can be nice---just like Mom used to say. I will now go sit in the corner for an hour---LOL..........Lee

Dear Gordy;

Thanks; but I'm just visiting.

This is an 'automotive club' and
censorship isn't "in the script"
for me. Hiding the truth/facts
is "anti Ameican activity". Why
you guys allow it, is beyond me??
--------
It was an 'automotive topic' and
it should be allowed. Until it is,
why should I bother here??

Political "correctness" is BS to
allow the incompentent/stupid to
survive within our government.
Just look at GM and Chrysler to
see the results. All caused by
bogus/nonsense regulations etc.

The ZPE was built here (USA) in
1954.
-------
The PG is working but I never did
get the time/money to fix it.

Thanks again & Merry Christmas.

Dear Lee;

A very good analogy, Sir.
------
I saw this one the other day.

Dear Santa;

Urgently need this repair kit.

"Tar + Feathers + rope & Politician"
(some assembly required). Please
send several ASAP...

Thanks...
-------

I'll be posting my annual Christmas
message soon TBA. Not sure how I
got here?? Some guy trying to find
a lost relative in the (SCTA) I guess.
Think I was able to help him.

John, This is a place worth going. We are here! You should be to.
Lee, Exactly. They'll just have to bloody my nose every day. I've been beat up by real men. \:D Beater

Dear Jerry;

That's correct, Sir.

The 'bench racing' forum was just for that.
Discussing other related automotive issues
and that included; Big Brother's SMOG Lie,
which it always has been.

What's done is done.

A "sign of the times"; I guess.
Posted By: John H. Meredith Re: John H. Meredith - 12/21/09 03:35 PM
Dear BOP;

I agree; the 'powers that be' do not.

You all saw how/what was done here.
You all saw how/what was done to GM and
the Chrysler Corp. in America recently.

Would that topic be allowed??

The 'bench racing' forum needs to return
to It's orginal (free speech) agenda, NOT
the 'politically correct' joke it now is.

An international automotive organization
should show all sides to any (auto) topic.

NOT only the 'politically correct' one.
