Inliners International

With my hunger for more knowlege about Inlines, and my ego run wild, I was asked (by private message) to join another board, I jumped at the chance.

After doing that I realised that it could hurt the Inliners Bulletin Board which has done a good job for sometime, so I quit the other board.

If this board wants to support the magazine and help the club grow, we all need to provide the Inliners magazine with articals,
pictures and infomation for publication. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe a list could be posted of articals
that are going to be in the magazine to entice people to join the club.

This interaction between the board and magazine could only make both stronger.

I would not mind making an artical for the 12 port, even though I am not a member ,but have been a couple times in the past.

Not sure if anyone would want to hear anything I have to write about?

Why wouldn't we read what you write for the 12 Port? We read what you write here. I'm interested.
Turbo6, If I thought that participation on another BB would harm this one I wouldn't do it either. Like most people here I am a member on many boards, but this is more than a BB this is also our club site. This group because of it;s history and membership is unique. I agree with you that we need to support the 12 Port News also. But I don't think posting on other boards will hurt this one and it could even help channel new members to Inliners International. I don't see it as a contest. Beater \:\)

You must be talking about hortodinlines.com.

The inliners board is what it is. Dont feel bad about belonging to another board. It wont hurt the inliners one bit. I go over there and the the HAMB all the time. Lots of us do.

I dont see it as a contest either. I am a life time member of inliners. There are requests for articles and contributions from the 12 port news. I have submitted several articles for the 12 port news, but no mention. Thats cool, I aint nothin special.

Hey, I want to support the club to, and have tried to contribute what I can, but that should be a 2 way street.

Go ahead and join another forum - it wont hurt this one a bit.

Beater and 6inarow, your right. Many guys here belong to as many as 3 or 4 other forums, maybe more, its not like your cheating on your wife or something.... \:D

Why was the other board started ?

I just don't see any reason for another board, especially when they are identical in layout and people posting.

It might have been someone who doesn't know about this site, or someone who thought they could do it better...

Don't be afraid to be on several boards. It helps you to reach more people and learn from more.
Now if you join one of those V-8 thingy forum sites,,,well,, lets not go there. ;\)

Harry, Do what makes you feel best but the only way it would hurt us, is if you left. I've been a member of Inliners since 1983 and remember how proud I was to put your car on the 12 Port cover. There are those who would stop private messaging here, or close this site to the public all together. I completely disagree with all that. This is America and we believe in free enterprise and free speech. It was the hope, that this website would introduce people to Inliners International, help them with their projects and in the process, help us grow. We are not a book, forum or a list of classified adds, we are a club, we get together and form friendships, we are like minded human beings and nothing can take that from us. I belong to several sites and they all bring something to the table and I am not afraid they will spoil the very special thing we have here. I agree with you on the interaction of our members to make this club stronger but we will do that by being above board and in collaboration with others rather that being obstructive. We have simple rules here, and they must be followed. None of us like SPAM, or a commercial on TV every two minutes. If people want to advertise, do it in the proper place and way. I am no longer a Board Member or Officer of the Club and these are just my feelings on a subject that has came up. We grow by opening up to the world around us, not by closing ourselves off.

Well said, Armond.

Tim
As far as classified ads go on forums, I think this is the only site that does not post parts for sale along with all the other topics.

I think ,getting close or more of a friendly site allows a stuff for sale topic.

I know you already stated the classifieds are there & easy to use & so-on,just do not see why it is separate from all the other topics.

You still need to monitor the clssified sections also?

What is the difference if it is part of the general topics or having it separate in it's own section of parts for sale?

I just can see any reason.

My two cents.

Armond, I also am most proud of that cover shot, and have always been most appreciative to you for it.

I also aggree with all you said, but another board that mimics this one seems redundant and only spreads out information concerning such a small interest group.

Harry
What is this other board?

MBHD,

I know that the policy of not allowing stuff 'for sale' on the BB seems unusual, but that is the way it was set up in the club policies, I suspect there is going to be quite a discussion of the rules and regulations at the convention in Texas later on this year, it should be great fun.
