I need to know if the Dodge/Plymouth(small block) and Chrysler/Desoto(big block) flatheads use the same diameter rod journals. I'm bidding on some 251 Dodge bearings and need to know if they'll fit in my 230 Plymouth. Thanks in advance.

jeff, contact the guys at vintagepowerwagons.com. i sure don't know the answer, but i'm certain they do. the number should be on the website. if it has anything to do with these old mopar flatheads, those guys are a great place to start.

All 40-52 DeSoto flathead 6 rod journal dia: 2.124-2.125
1953: 2.125

1940-1952 Dodge 6 flathead journal dia: 2.0615-2.0625
1953: 2.0625

However, main bearing size on 40-52 DeSoto and 40-52 Dodge are the same.
