Just a comment about the 49 Chevy truck on Powerblock TV "Trucks" show.

I cannot believe they actually rebuilt the original 6 cylinder engine in it & put 2 1 BBL carbs on it thumbs up!

About damm time we dont see a V-8 swap. \:D

They set the gearing w/3.73's & a 700R4 OD trans.

Seemed like a cool ride. I wish they would've showed a little more detail on the build. They did the tear down, built a MII frontend, then we didn't see it for 6 months.

Good series, but I wish they would of spent more time on the technical aspects and less time on the "patina" paint and copper plated trim.
They probably spent the six months looking for a six cylinder sponsor to GIVE them the parts.

we dont have cable-so dont get to see such porn, what kind of motor did they settle for? Stovebolt, later, or 4200? With two carbs, it must be a stovebolt.

Copper and patina my _ss, sometimes them guys get too cutesy!

Saw a '53 pickup last nite with two rochester B's ona late 261 (w/fullflow filter-thats what gave it away), thought of what my daddy used to say ...wish in one hand...
That particular show has been rerunning from last year. As to engine parts, they used people like Patricks and EGGE although not overly plugging them. It is a full pressure 235 engine and the truck had upgraded electronics. I really disliked the chrome parts finish with copper plating.
The truck was for sale at the Torque Fest May 4-5 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Did not ask price.
