titenn!!!! if you wouldn't mind shrinking theses a little i can't seem to figure it out thanks \:\/

The pics aren't hosted on the website, you have to set the size before you post them,in your case Photobucket, the easiest way to do this is in a program like Photoshop Essentials, a good size would be 400x(whatever) pixels, or a 125x600 thumbnail linked to the full sized pic.. As an alternative, you could email them to me and I can size them for you. If you, or anyone, does this be sure to tell me what it is for so I know what is going on and where the pics are going. Make sense? if not, email me.

Cars at paint pete totslly excited for you when you bringing it through az?

No update on thd truck bought a house so been funding that!
Posted By: BlackJackPG Re: 1972 - 07/03/13 03:30 AM
Hey good for you! Yep, houses are an expensive entity. Makes a car look like chump change. Congratulations!

Believe it or not, I hope to drive it back to the guy I bought it from in New Mexico and give the guy a good beating. (Sarcastic) We've been fighting his bad work since day one! That should take me right through the center of Arizona. A slight detour through Glendale may be in order. \:D

Actually believe it or not, we went right by you on our way home from picking up our Chevy. There was a huge snow storm that closed down the highway in between Flagstaff and Kingman. We had to take a detour on a small country road through the snow down the Phoenix to get around it!

Sorry, didn't quite understand your last post. Did you mean your car's at paint? If so, congratz!

Best of luck!

Pete

And no was refering to yours unfortunately mytruck will not be painted for some time after it runs and drives
Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 07/07/13 03:41 PM
Well updates are slow but i'm reallytrying to get back at it

For today i got the trans switched over the the mid shift location so it won't hit my seat now also got a plate welded over the top of a stock manifold so i can break my engine in using a carburator instead of my fuelinjection setup

Definately more safe that way

Cool!

All progress goes in the + column. I've been trying to fix broken and worn out stuff from the - column and get them into the = column. That is not really progress, it's treading water. \:\( So for some part of every day I put on my water wings and flippers and head to the shop. \:D
Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 08/18/13 09:09 PM
getting very close in the engine now just got my clutch fly wheel and waiting on my harmonic balancer from tom i can nearly taste the exhaust fumes in my mouth been really busy every day trying to track down all of the little parts needed and its kicking my... butt crank is drilled and the flange is now 1/2 in x 20 and the dowel was drilled for 1/2 in dowel pin

ended up with a hays flywheel and a hays clutch kit to match i am using a bronze pilot bushing and waiting on some arp flywheel bolts

no need to lose toes:)

been doing a lot of reading on getting the tranny straight and indexed so i should be good there

it is a tremec 2600708 5 speed 3550 tko

got the drive line all together and some more metal cut from the floor and a mock up is the new shifter tower noting like petes but it will do!

thanks happy in-lining

Well GOT the engine fired up and brike the csm jnyesterdsy most wiring is temporary as I need to oull it ut one last time to finish all the transmission bull! For now I will save my pennies so I can buy the turbo and accessories and some shifters and get my drive line shortened but when I grt near a comouter I will post oictures and try my luck at a video..

Also to note ran a singke barrel carb engine was extremely responsive just didn't have enough air flow so i sprinkled the radiator with a hose every somoften and it stsyed right around 190 next move I guess is try the fuel injection by professiinal products the powerjection 3 see how that works to kill time while I ssve cash monies (american) ;\)

Well its been a while:/ still collecting parts and knowledge for my fueli jection build. As some o you may hve seen on other posts getting pretty hot and heavy into a plennum multi port injection
Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 04/05/14 12:36 PM
I'm back... At it. So i spent my tax return money on some big parts. intake parts to build my own multiport injection, a turbo, wastegat,e blowoff valve and a shifter for the trans mission. that will give me plenty to play with this month. measuring and welding the intake will take some time but it will for sure happen. gunna clean the garage today. see if i can put the rearend back together as i had pulled it apart to paint it (rust prevention) and get the brakes to new. Well time to get after it!

Happy inlining. Josh

Just curious what material did you use for the block off plate & what welding rod?
Did you preheat the exhaust manifold before you welded it?

Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 04/05/14 08:19 PM
Quarter in plate and just use a wirefeed lincoln 110 fluxcore it was a quick job for break in pruposes only if you clean cast up well it will weld OK if i was to be permanant i would have headed it to about 200 before welding with 110 rod people get crazy and use high nikle rod can't remember the number
Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 04/05/14 08:20 PM
I'll take a closer picture so you can see the actual weld

Sorry about that, I don't come on as much anymore. I never have gotten email notifications so I can't tell when someone has replied to my post lol Sorry. I went with a Zooms Clutch kit. Came with the pressure place, clutch, and bearing. Also a pilot bushing. Bolt right up fine with a stock flywheel. I'll try and look through my receipts and try to get a part number for you.
Posted By: TJ's Chevy Re: 1972 - 02/03/16 02:03 PM
I should also mention that I stayed with the manual clutch so it may be different.
Posted By: lowboygmc Re: 1972 - 02/03/16 10:35 PM
Nice I have a hays clutch it came with a throwoutbearing bearing too but it's too short I need a 2" wasn't sure if you knew how long it was
