Fellas, I am smack in the middle of building a 261 chevy for my 57 chevy. Many years ago, Charlie Baker machined me a beautiful set of early 302 rods for the 261 and Joe Torres at venolia made me a set of forged pop ups. I finally got around to using this stuff (you know, kids, college, weddings). So my question is now that the bottom end is together, the rods look like they are very close to the cam. Does anyone know what a safe clearance should be between the rod and cam. Also, does anyone happen to have an oil pump tube and fittings. For the life of me I can't find what was originally on the motor. Thanks!

I would begin to get nervous at .060", but it's probably safe closer than that. Remember, you need 2 full rotations to make sure.
