Here's a LINK
Pretty cool. I'd like to see that on somebody's car.

Saw a picture of one of those in one of Hugh MacInnes' books on turbocharging...maybe in Leo's book, cant remember which at the moment. Seemed to be knd of an exotic piece like a Rajo head.

Yeah, polish it up and put it on a '50 chevy pass car or pickup and park it with the hood up at a Sonic show or something similar. It would be a good history lesson.

In Dean Batchelor's book The American Hot Rod on page 130 there is a picture of one on a four cylinder. The caption reads "......possibly the first, exhaust driven supercharger for an automobile engine was built by Ray Besasie of Milwaukee Wisconsin, for a 1941 Chevy six. It is seen here on a four-cylinder engine of some sort in a '32 Ford roadster. Unlike current turbochargers the impeller of this unit was so large that that the inertia kept it from spooling-up to be a practical street application, but it should have been good for top speed runs at the dry lakes. The photo was taken in 1941 or '42 by Vince Cimmino.
I just moved this over from my post on Hot Rod Inlines. I'd like have it on my 153 build! \:\)
