Looks like I may be moving for work and would like to pass along some parts to Inliners and a good home. I have a tired 292 removed from a work truck but running at the time, good 250 but needs cam, GM 3 speed, T50 5 speed from Vega Monza, wire wheels, old Inliners News letters, lots of 250 engine tin and probably more. The offer is FREE if you pick it all up at once. I am not offering free parts to be cherry picked, but if someone is willing to take a lot of FREE parts I'm willing to give away a truckload.

Please email me at chevy2inreno@me.com if interested.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, What are the wire wheels?
Guys I am close. If it will help out. Dave is where I got my first 4 cylinder. I don't need all of this but if a bunch of us want some of it I'll go get it. I don't have room for it all. Dibs on the T50. Dave and I have already talked about this. I could get some of it as far east a Bonneville maybe small stuff as far a Texas. smile

Hi Tom,

The wire wheels are early Ford, I think I have 5.

Just shoot me a message.

Thanks,

Damn, I saw this too late. I'm looking for the top end of an HD truck 292 (carb, intake, non-int head, valve cover, and 2.5" exhaust manifold) to swap onto my stock integrated 250. So I don't know if this was a SD 292 or the HD 292?

I'll know Sunday morning. A friend has already spoken for the 292. In fact another one called out of the blue today looking for a 292. I'll see what is among the other parts and let you know.

Got it home! Dave's neighbor even kicked in more treasure. The '68 flatbed knew it wasn't empty on the way back over the mountain. shocked

Part of the haul is some old issues of the 12 Port News. The oldest is the entire Volume 12 from 1992. The oldest Members Roster is 1993 when only 14 members are listed for Nevada. Eleven of them are from Northern Nevada before we had a chapter. Some are still members.

I finished mounting a Harbor Freight bed mounted crane on my flatbed. It's not quite as handy as I had hoped and I am sure that with little effort I could really hurt myself with it. Nonetheless, I unloaded the rest of the Reno stash except for Mel's 292. The 250 turns freely and has another 194 head. That makes 3 of the 5 heads hauled to be 194s. Wth the one I already had that is Four 194 heads. Should I open a museum or build a retaining wall? frown laugh

Beater,
need to post some pics of your crane.

I say, sell the 194 heads, put them up on the for sale section, craigslist etc.
Get some $$ so you can put it into your projects.

Dave did say something about the pan being desirable for some. He is a Chevy II guy. The engine is a 250 with a 194 head. It turns but looks like it was burning some oil. Dave said that the guides had been knurled and needed to be replaced. The 292 is in the front of the bed. It doesn't turn over but I pulled the plugs and poured some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders. The plugs looked pretty good.

I'm going to have to build out riggers or put jack stands under the bed rails if I'm on any kind of slope. Maybe camper jacks?

Yes center pick-up for a chevyII. Mainly when you swap in the later L6s into the chevyII with PS.
A rear sump will not clear the PS set-up on the drag link.

Thanks Larry, That is good to know. So, the oil pump pickup is unique to this pan and they need to be kept together?

Yes they are much shorter. And it also mounts in a different spot on the main cap. It has been so long since I had a 194 in my hands It may Not even Mount to a stud it is that much shorter.

Thanks Larry and Hank, It's new to me. What pan would an El Camino use? The same as the bigger cars?

I'm taking the 292 to it's new home tomorrow. My Inliner friend Mel wants it for one of his projects. I'm excited because he is into early Chevy and Ford 4 cylinder race cars and I might learn something. This is where many of my '26 roadster parts came from. cool
