Greetings,

I recently finished a build of a 250 turbo setup with Holley EFI, DIS and 2 solenoid boost control. It has been a wait to hear it run but finally it made it's break in run. It's going to be installed in a 1967 nova that currently houses a 350. I also wanted to say thanks to Tom, Mike and Walt and the boys at Paul's machine shop in Springdale, AR. Here are a couple of pictures and a short clip of the break in run.

I will be glad to answer any questions you have as you can tell I'm not much of a forum poster, photographer or videographer.

Regards,

Paul

I'm very interested in how you plan on fitting it in the Nova since I'll be going down that road myself at some point.

Specs? List of materials? I also noticed it looks like you're running coil packs. Interesting...

Dyno run yet?

That will be the pics we'll want to see for sure. You'll definitely have to re-route the air inlet pipe.

The specs...
250 .040 over
Head was done by Mike Kirby @ Sissell with a setup for ARP studs in the lumps
Harland Sharp roller rockers with custom length Comp push rods
Ross racing pistons and 6" Scat h-beam rods
Cam is Comp grind for turbo
Holley Terminator EFI (HP EFI setup)
Holley DIS w/ 60-2 trigger wheel no cam sync
Holley 2 solenoid boost control
SPA turbo manifold w/ 522r .70 A/R turbo
Clifford intake
Aerospace Components electric water pump with two feeds, one to the water pump plate and the second to the block between cylinders 4 and 5.

The plan to fit it in the Nova may not be the same case as yours. I have a Heidts front clip so there shouldn't be any big issues(hopefully). The inside fender wall may come into play.

Yes, it has Holley's DIS setup, 60-2 trigger wheel no cam sync.

Haven't had it on the dyno. Just got it running last week late and I think the plan is to get it installed and chassis dyno.

I will be sure and post. The inlet pipe in that configuration is just for the run stand.

Man that's looks awesome, looking forward to seeing some numbers. What valve cover is that?

What are your power goals?

Thanks Matt. My goal is to try to make the 2hp per ci mark. But any hp/tq numbers above 450 will still make me happy. The valve cover is from Sissell automotive, it was the only one I could find to clear the stud girdle. This will be combo'd with a 200r4 by Extreme Automatics and Currie F9 - 3.73 rear end.

How many GPM is that water pump rated for? I run an electric water pump on my L6 and those lines look a little small, but it could be an optical illusion of the photo.

Here are some updated photos of the install. Still have a few things left before it hits the road.

Here is a run on the dyno @ 14psi. More to come as I work out a couple of changes.

Do you have any numbers that you'd care to let us see??

I need to make another trip to the dyno. I will say that run was 375hp/425tq to the tire. When we turned it up for the next run it had an intake pipe issue @ 4200rpm @ 18.8psi it was at 425hp/455tq before it let go. It's being pushed to 6k. I didn't take a print out from the run since we never got to the top. Although, having said that the cut over to the wastegate is set for 21psi based on fuel delivery table. I will share it as soon as I make 'hopefully' the final tune. In addition to the intake, I had to change out the converter.

Paul,
Sounds like it is running nice. That cam won't want to rev past 6K, in fact 5500 might be better.
That much tq to the tire will get that Chevy II going pretty quick.
Nice job!

Thanks Tom. I really appreciated the fact that you make it easy to find good parts and answer questions. Thanks for the heads up on the cam. Based on the data it seems to be making power up to 6k. I do not plan on running past that rpm and have the rev limiter set.

Previously posted in Engines. Thanks for moving it to the proper topic.

Nice! Sounds healthy.

I'm starting to pick up parts for my Firebird to start moving forward on mine again.
