X2 the early motor will do just fine as a runner.

BTW to do ignition control with out a dist. cost would be about $300. connections are:

+12 ign sw
gnd

coils x 6

crank trigger x 2

map sensor x 3 (or 1 vacumm hose)

If you went with a carb - leave the injectiors/fuel rail in place to plug the holes in the head.
