I need a 292 engine as quick as possible
Has to be located in or near Alberta,Canada

What years trucks did this engine come in?
I know there is one in the classified section
but I cannot get a response to the ad.
Thanks

I would say your most likely source would be Chevy Step Vans and of course 1 Ton & larger trucks even though they were in 1/2 Ton trucks too.I may be wrong but I think they were last produced in 1984. Paul

292s were produced at least through 1988 in the States. Maybe even as late as 1990. They are plentiful and not that difficult to find. I believe they can still be ordered as a new longblock through some auto parts stores.

You can still purchase new long blocks thru GM and places like Jasper Engines if you want a rebuilt one.

Check "The Last Ride" (really) 403-343-6377, usually good pricing. Den's Repair, west of Bowden (I'm almost certain I saw a couple there last summer) 403-224-3766.Good Luck,Tom.(Putting a 292/700R4 in my 65 C10)
