I now use Teel brand pumps on my cars. I used to use Jabsco but Teel is cheaper and performs equally well. I plumb it into a Sirrocco-type radiator with a pusher fan. I have the pump and fan wired into a switch so I can drive it around without cooling to put heat into the engine. When I go to the line I try to be at 160*. Run with the fan / pump on. At the end of a run it gets to about 180 - 190, around 200 by the time I pick up my time slip and return to my pit space. I can then run the fan / pump to cool down the car for the next round in about 15 - 20 minutes, depending on the ambient.
I also run a Powerglide trans cooler with a bilge / NASCAR style brake duct fan connected to an inline fluid sensor that turns on the fan at 155* fluid temp. I also have a manual override switch to bypass the thermostatic switch for late round round-robin racing.
