Ive got an 82 CJ5 with a 250 in it right now. The engine is in serious need of a rebuild. Problem is I dont have the time for a rebuild. So, Im weighing my options and Im considering putting a fresh 250 in its place. But I figure, why settle for a 250, if a 292 will fit just as easy?? Ive almost made up my mind about not getting the 250 rebuilt. The jeep has a Tremec T176 4spd if thats of interest to anyone. All your comments and suggestions are VERY welcome.

Help me out here guys, I dont want to have to put a 350 in it. LOL. Thanks.

I don't know much about the CJs. But You will need to FAB a Passanger side Motor Mount If You go with the 292.And You may Or may not have a issue with the Oil pan clearing things???? Hope this helps }[oooooo]

I found a 1969 model 250 from a C10 truck that had been freshly rebuilt. The price was right, so I bought that and swapped in for the old 250.
