Does anyone here have pictures of the AC and PS setup on a 292. I am adding both of these accesories and need some info about the pulleys and what not. My 292 has a 250 head so I will have to use a set of 250 PS brackets. I have a 3 groove 292 balancer but I am not sure if it will line up with the other pulleys. Is the water pump pulley the same as a small block or any other engine?

Regarding the A/C brackets you'd probably do good fabricating (or having a custom shop fabricate) your own bracket. True 292 A/C brackets are about as common as hen's teeth. And the 250 bracket will NOT work with 292s because they mount both on the block and the head.

If you're a welder you should be able to modify the 250 bracket and cut and add a piece to extend the engine mount point of the 250 bracket to where you can bolt it on a 292. Shouldn't be too difficult.

The 250 power steering bracket and pump should be a direct bolt on.

I guess I should mention this is for a 72 Jimmy.

I already have the AC brackets. I am using this style so it mounts just on the head.

Dear GM;

The 292" engine was a option in 3/4 ton trucks with A/C & P/S as well, throughout the mid to late 60s from GM.

You should be able to get these parts @ Tom's Truck Parts in Miami, Ok. The Phone # is: 918.542.3871.

Good luck, John M...
