My 1955 235 engine is in my 1951 chevrolet replaceing the old 216. I have the 235 exhaust manifold installed and the exhaust pipe attached. The 235 muffler and tail pipe which came with the engine don';t seem to like my 1951 under carriage. Should I use a 216 or 235 exhaust system original type equipment.

Thanks,

Bob Blankenship

Dear Bob;

If the orginal pipes are good you might need to use parts from each.

New are available too (1952 vintage) & will match the 235 exhause port.

Good luck. \:\)
