I have a 64 292 want to start a rebuild cylinder heads first then the short block.

My question is would I be better off having the stock heads rebuilt new valves and guides 3 angle job springs shimmed .015" etc. possibly add stellite seats for unleaded gas. Mill .030 for 8.5:1 compression

or

Order a head already remanufactured for a 72 292
would this have the hardened valve seats? should also have 72cc combustion chamber vs 74cc on the 64 heads. Possibly milled for ~8.75:1 compression?

Save your money and just rebuild what you have.Unless you want it as a back up head for any reason.

Larry's right; "save your money."

Chances are you won't need all the things you mentioned anyway, with 8:1.

Good luck. \:\)
