i am tearing down my 250 chevy yesterday and the whole time knowing that i would have to turn the crank at least .010 to my suprise the crank don't even have a score in it! it looks like new. it just go's to show that inlines are the tuffest engines ever built.(this engine came from my 69 nova numbers matching car that has never been rebuilt!)

Just have the Machine Shop 'mike' the crank & see if standard or .002 are needed is all.

Good luck. \:\)

I always like to have them put in the vat for a while to cook out all the oil passages and then polished. That always gives the new bearings a good surface for break in and rids the crank of any loose "whatever" hanging around in the oil Passages....SCRAP
