are the 327 sj rods the same width as a 250 rod? they are same length.

Some of the 'guys' use SBC rods so some work etc.

No they are not the same width, they are narrower.
You will lose oil pressure & fling a lot more oil around. Buy some Crower rods.

thanks guys, i was just doing some numbers and realized that they are close to the same.i was thinking about some crowers or venolias,but just wanted to make sure before spending the bucks on em thanks again.

If your having the crank cut I believe some has used the sb rod After the crank has been recut for those rods But I can't remember who.

Hank is right about them being narrower. A lot of work has to be done on the crank to make them work properly. Side clearance is equally important as bearing clearance in controlling oil pressure.

For an all out racing engine you want all out rods and for a performance street engine a carefully reconditioned set of stock rods will work fine.
