I may be missing the place, but I have been searching for a chart giving total cubic inches for the amount of over bore. I am trying to figure out what the total cubic inch displacement is on my ('59) 235" with an "80 over" rebuild. Is there such a chart, or can someone tell me what the total is?

Thanks,

GA

I don't know the bore and stroke of a 235 but with .080 over you will have about 240 cubic inches. Buy a Moroso Power Speed Calculator (part # 89650). This slide rule will allow you to calculate displacement for any 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engine. You can also do quartermile e.t. predictions, compression ratio calculations, clearance volume calculations, power-to-weight ratios, gear ratio/speed/RPM/tire size computations and the like. Well worth the investment. I arrived at the 240 ci figure by assuming a bore/stroke typical of the era and worked it out on this slide rule.

Theres an easy formula for this, if you wanna figure up your cubic inches real quick.

bore X bore X stroke X .7854 X number of cylinders = cubic inches

Coool!! I went here and got the bore and stroke,

http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tablersn.htm

added the .080” overbore, plugged in Inline's formula, and voila!!

Current CU IN, 239.6, (pretty close, Flyer!!)

Thanks for you guy’s response.

Buy the calculator. It'll save you having to know a dozen different formulas. Plus you can become the "go to" guy for all your friends questions.
