Can anyone tell me if the pistons in the 261 i just tore down are stock or an aftermarket,,the motor has been rebuilt once before as bearings are .010..they have a hump on top/over on one side..going to rebuild motor..they look to be in fine shape..i'm going to put better cam,,full oil,,havent decided on intake/carb or carbs yet..the motor had a dual carb set up on it...wondering if these pistons are o.k. to use..any info would be appreciated.. father son project...

Sounds like it has some high compression pistons installed. Rather expensive if bought new. Good score. If they are oversized, it should be marked on the top of the piston, otherwise you will need to measure the bore and compare to stock dimensions...

If they went to the expense of using those pistons, then it probably allready has a higher lift camshaft also. Better check that before you spend any money buying the same camshaft over again...

If they are too small for your new bore and standard size or 0.20 over or something I would like to buy them from you, I have a 261 block with standard bore that needs refreshing.
