Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines Chev flywheel question

Hi all;
I'm on a steep learning curve here in trying to sort out the proper flywheel (not automatic) for my 250 cu. in. "transplant engine" for my old Land Rover 4 cylinder.

Basically i need a 153 tooth flywheel but i see they are either "internally or "externally" balanced

What does this mean?

Which one would the Chevy inline 6 require...?

Many thanks as i try to put the puzzle together

Oh yes, another question quick question....does the high torque or the mini aftermarket starter motor sit higher up on the block than the standard starter.....I'm concerned the front driveshaft could strike the bottom of the starter motor, especially if the suspension is extremely articulated (off-road)

you want the internally balanced that one works on all 6 cyl. and small v8's from 265 to 350. and 396 and 427.
the startes do not sit higher on the block.

the mini starters do not sit as low or as far out from the block. i think that is what you wanted to hear. tom

Thanks very much fellas.....
both of my questions were answered
This is all very helpfull information.....
