Has anyone had a GM 235 apart? If so how does the harmonic balancer and front pully come off the crankshaft. Is there a hidden bolt? or something holding them on. All I see is a keyway. Ive been soaking it in penetrating oil but nothing is moving with a puller.Any wisdom would be appreciated. Dan

Should just pull off with the puller. You gotta whack the center pin on the puller with a hammer while there is a lot of tension on it. Should come right off. I just did my 261 yesterday. Good Luck. ;\)

If you thread the bolts for the puller into the balancer and the thread comes out, thread the bolts in further and put a nut on the other end. Heat the balancer up a little and keep pulling it until it comes off.
