Hello All!
Welp, had my 57 235 running, 2X1 (Rochesters B's) offy and fentons, sounded healthy and ran good even though it was only timed by ear. I had only gotten it started so it could be fine tuned/timed. It was running rich and always seemed to spit out condensation out the tailpipe (which I thought was normal since its been a little cold and sits a lot) but nevertheless did drive good the few times I drove it around the block, no white smoke or black smoke, operating temp consistent at 180 with electric fan on. Running the stock fan by itself would overheat.
I have a new radiator and Patrick's water pump

Now....
I took it for a putt around my block and all of a sudden my temp gauge went to 225 with efan on...huh??? I was in front of my house so I backed into the garage, checked the oil...viola, DIRTY MILK!!!!
water in the dang oil!!

I used a Felpro copper faced headgasket and went through torque sequence correctly.

also for you carb guys, I checked spark plugs, all dry, no milk, but 1 and 2 were white, 3 through 6 heavy carbon deposits.

What do you guys think?
Did I hide a problem with the electric fan?
Did I screw up the torque on the head?
Did I use a troublesome gasket type?
What about the carbs, why would plugs 1 and 2 be white?
I understand 3 through 6 being black but...How did I screw up in this department?

No real signature.

To me, white plugs are usually a sign of burning coolant... But... you say it sits alot and it's cold... Could be condensation in the crankcase. Change your oil and try it again.

Another thing that can happen if you do a head gasket is forgetting to drain the oil pan AGAIN after you pull the head off, as quite a bit of coolant can run down.

The temp getting hot is somewhat strange, but I would change your oil and see if it happens again. Maybe your thermostat got stuck, or your "new" waterpump ate it.
