ok i'm very frustrated. i thought i had my problems solved well not so. i am putting a 292 in a 63 that had a v8. i bought a motor mount perch from a truck the pass side one was in the foward position and so was the drivers side one. so this fits in the front posttion fine and looks like it will work. question #1- are there any other motors that use these positions? next i find a 292 out of the truck. i go to take it off it looks like the drivers side one except it has two 7/8" spacers on the bottom two bolts. i mount this assembly on the engine and measure this with a big set of calipers and compare to the perches in truck. it is 7/8" too long. the pass side bracket from a 230 i had the bolt holes are too far apart but at least in the same plane like the hole bosses on the block. question #2 what does a real pass side 292 bracket look like? is it shorter like the bracket on the 230/250 pass side? i have several spare engines but they are all newer style and have different motor mount/ brackets. question #3 what was up with those spacers on the 292, has anyone seen that before? i know their function was to bring the bottom side up so it is like the drivers side where two bottom bolt holes stick farther out. question #4 who designed this and where are they???
