i hopefully will fire up my 292 tommarow. before innstalled it in truck i took a couple of pictures of it. when i went to put on the clifford intake with the headers and they had trouble fitting together. i then tried to put on a stock intake and exaust it wouldn't fit either. i had installed all studs and the stud at the front of the intake it too high to work. i took it out and it fit fine. i got this engine disassembled and i think this is the head off it i bought two at the same time. the block and crank were '64. i decided to use stock manifolds and carb fo startup w/out this stud. i have way too much time and $$$ in this head to use another one. should i just hog out more on the intake hole or put in a thread insert and use a smaller stud? it is about half a hole off. i have never seen this on another head. how could it have ever been used if it was that far off. thanks

HR;

Check the past posts; I vaguely remember a similar situation (elsewhere) with a head from Mexico or SA.

Mike G, Larry or Hank will know the specifics.

Good luck. \:\)
