I'm pulling my 250 and Saginaw 3-speed trans for the first time. I don't see an obvious point to pick the engine from. I've removed the radiator and support, and hood. Any suggestions? I want to pull the transmission with it.

A manifold bolt hole will work ok, like rear one then an up front hole on right side. You can pull the trans at same time but will make it more difficult especially if you are without a helper. I'd unbolt the trany myself, unless there are ablolutly no obstacles. And with the stick shift trans you'll have to tilt and pull the motor foreward to get the input shaft clear. If you have to tilt the motor up to clear you are on thin ice here, can slip on the chain. You could pull the trans first and set it down. GET SOME HELP and
BE SAFE!
