I'm considering a 4.0 liter Jeep I6 engine for my project and am interested to know what about transmissions for this engine..I would prefer a five speed such as the T-5. this will be a two wheel drive application. Street use. I assume that the entire installation will reguire fabrication of mounts etc, so that is not really an issue. Mostly wanting to know what will be closest to a "bolt up" of the trans and engine.
Thanks :
Paul

Use the whole motor and transmission together. I am out there measuring now to see how a 53 Chevy PU body fits on a short wb Comanche. Get motor, brakes, AC, all the upgrades at one time. Lots of current tech support.

I am not that familiar with Jeep and AMC engines, but the AMC Spirit and Pacer had a 5 speed option that went behind a 232 and I believe 258. If the bellhousing is the same it should be a quick bolt up.

IIRC the Jeep 4.0 comes with an Aisin (Japan) 5 speed tranny. Why not use that?
