I'm looking to swap the powerglide in my '68 C10 with a TH350. Motor is a 292. My understanding so far is that I won't have to make any driveshaft changes (nor mount), but I will have to figure out the kickdown cable and the shifter attachment.

Does anyone have pix of the kickdown cable bracket for a 1bbl rochester carb for a 292? Will I be able to use my bracket? I'm hoping I can get a cable off the shelf.

Any mods needed on the shifter at the tranny? I'm hoping the neutral start switch will not need to be modified.

thx, Eric

The holes in the flexplate for the converter will have to be re-drilled to the pattern of the 350 converter. There was a feww 153 tooth flywheels made the have the correct pattern but they are hard to find and the re-drill is a simple deal. You may be able to find a bracket for the kickdown cable on a 71-76 Nova pass car equipted with a 6/350 combination. I am sure there were some pick-ups made with that combo But I don't recall ever seeing one. Paul

Really? I'm surprised. I guess most 292s came with the SM465 then.

Thanks for the flex plate tip.
