Inliners International Forums General Discussion Drive Train T5 to 235

OK, I know the T5 to chevy 235 has been discussed alot, but I need to know one more thing, I know Selection from 83 to 87 WC and NWC s10 will work. But I dont know what year is the best to get. My knowledge is not real strong on whats the best ratios for street. Just need to know which year tranny would be the best most reliable in a 54 belair, any help is much appreciated

The one with the lowest 1st gear. You don't care about 'close ratios' with a 100 horse engine.

Fleet makes a good point. The 54 bell housing may be different too.

You'll need a 55 housing & rear end + custom (T-5 yoke/55 U-joint) driveshaft.
