I am fitting a T5 off a 292 in my 51 - 3100. The brake booster and new rear end are in and now comes the tuff part. How to fit an adjustable linkage to the new clutch arm/bellhousing w/ the old clutch pedal???
Has any body else solved this issue??
Should this now get converted to a hydraulic clutch?? or leave it as standard??
If so what years of chevy's lend themselves to fit this situation??
Any help guys would be grately appreciated...

I am 99.9% sure that 1984 was the first year that the fullsize chevys went to hydraulic clutches. Hope that helps a little as to what to start looking for. Can anyone back that year up?

UPDATE:
The set up is:
installed in a 1951 3100, a 292, a T5, a cast iron bellhousing and stock truck straight clutch fork (for that 292 motor) and a new under floor mounted power master cylinder.
the problem:
The straight clutch fork fouls the master cylinder when it moves back during operation.
The solution:
So far and this may be updated again but...
seems to be the use of an early corvette clutch arm 1956-1962. this vette arm after it comes out of the rubber boot bends forward quit a bit and has a hole for a clevis or heim joynt fitting (for adjustment) and should clear the new power master cylinder. Later camaro, el caminos and chevelle fork arms are too wide to fit the slot in the cast iron bellhousing, do not bend forward enough and must be modified for adjustment cause they are hydraulic model arms w/ a dimple @ the end location.
I hope this helps you gentlemen who tackle this arrangement.
more later after the tranny is pulled and the set up completed.

Can the bellhousing from an early sixties Chev truck that has the hydraulic clutch with the clutch arm on the passenger side be used on the 292?

292 has same as V-8.
Is that a stock setup? I was told when looking for parts for my truck by a few different sources, one of which was a Chevy parts guy at the local dealership, that the clutches weren't hydraulic till, what I was sure, was 1984? I don't mean to take away from any of the original question, but is there something different I don't know about?

Hydraulic clutches are stock on 1960 to 1962 1/2 and 3/4 ton Chevrolet trucks, possibly some 1963s.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just assumed that before 84, there was no hydraulic setups. Once again, I learned something else here today.

The 60-62 V8 hydraulic bellhousing will work on a 194--292. Joe
