I just bought a 1352-145 S-10 T-5 with a 26 spline input shaft. What gives? I thought they were all 14 spline. I thought I would have to cut the bearing retainer and I won't have to, it's the same length as my '62 tranny!
Do you go into a FLAPS and ask for a clutch and pressure plate for an '85 S-10? Will this fit on a '56 passenger 235 and flywheel? I'm out of my time period here, the 'newest' piece I have on my '49 3100 is a '62 transmission. Thanks for the advice. I did a search but saw no mention of a 26 spline S-10 tranny, I thought they (the 26's) were all Camaro/Bird T-5's.

Its not what you think it is.
When you switch the tailhousings around, you also switch the top plate because the shift rod needs to be shorter as well. What you have is a V8 Camaro T5 with an 85-86 S10 top plate and tailhousing. The V8 Camaro used a 10 3/4" 26 spline clutch disc.

S-10 T-5 with 26 spline input shaft The caliper reads 1 1/8" diameter. I lay a straight edge showing the same input shaft/oil slinger cover size. The input shaft that lay on top of tranny is a 10 spline and is the same length as the 26 spline.

Again, you don't actually have an S10 tranny there, Its actually out of a Camaro, that's why it doesn't need to be shortened. Only S10 versions need to be shortened (and maybe Chevettes too??). The others are the same length as any other Chevy tranny.
Consider yourself lucky. You have what everybody wants, a V8 Camaro T5 that's allready been modified with the S10 tailhousing and top plate.

Depending on what size clutch you are using, you can use these clutch discs with your original pressure plate. 11"------ 1973 - 1982 Corvette 10 1/2"-- 1972 Corvette 4 speed 9 1/8" -- S10 with a 2.2
All of these are 26 spline with a 1 1/8" dia input shaft

Well done gearhead!! How did you know?! I just turned the input shaft and counted revolutions... 1st was just short of three revoltions, a 2.95 1st gear. OD was 1 input revolution equalled ~1.6 output revolutions, or, 1.0 divided by 1.6 = .625, a .63 5th gear overdrive. Still have to check to see if the speedometer gear is relocated.
