I would say peak torque on a stock 292 would be around 1500- 1800 RPM.?? anyone???
Figure out your gearing so your engine will run in that RPM range.

Depending on what OD on your tires.
373's - 410 rear end gears, w/a 28 inch tall tire, ,,,that is a rough estimate.
200R4 has a .68 OD?

What type of rear do you have? Stock? I'd stick with a 3:55 ratio. It's a good all around ratio that will give you great low end torque and good cruizin' gears.
I have a 3:55 with my 292 and T-5 that has a 0.72 OD. I get 1850 RPM's at 65mph with 31" tall rear tires. Good gas mileage too with 18 mpg with 3-HW's.

Moi
Just now i am out of axel at all.I have on my mind GM 8,5" rear end but these narrow axels are not so easy find here.Wide are easyer to buy but there is no ideas to cut GM axels and make them to fit to car.
Of cause I can buy new ford 9" axsels but prices are high level here.
On a racing people use Toyotas axels. Those are realy hard bone and they all have lock as standard. They have gears something3.5:1 to 6:1.
Width is~60".So I am going to find one of these axels here.
But the gear ratio is still ???

If someone have these torq curves I will be really happy to have more info.
Thanks
