Ford is now offering an inline engine based on a Cosworth design. It is all-aluminum, has dual overhead cams, multi-port fuel injection and weighs about 200 pounds complete. This attached web link shows the European version, the 2.0 liter. The U.S. version is a 2.3 liter now being installed into the Ranger and Mazda trucks. These new engines are cheap to purchase and now have many aftermarket performance parts. Anyone interested in additional details can write me at: dedonis@kans.com
http://www.sports2000.co.uk/pro_series_engine.htm http://home.att.net/~biker16/index.html then open the "Ford Global Inline Engine Family" link. http://home.att.net/7Ebiker16/new_Inline.html

This is quite interesting Gary, I didn't see a HP rating though.

Stock horsepower for the Ranger 2.3 is around 135. The stock European 2.0 with minor racing modifications is 193hp. The racing versions equipped with high compression pistons, cams, etc should make around 300+ hp. Several of my drag racing customers expect to make 500+ with a turbo. The strength of this engine is the block and head...Thank you Cosworth. And thanks to Ford for a new high performance racing option that is also an OEM engine. The old 2.0 and 2.3 sohc "Pinto" engines have served us well!
