I have a stock 1970 C-10 w/ 292, 4spd Man., and a 4:10 gear ratio 12-bolt. I like the engine and rear end, but not the tranny, and I want a good daily driver. Is there a good tranny swap for these like a manual 5 speed? It bugs me that my truck can't do at least 75mph at a decent efficiancy. Anyway, if anyone has good idea on this, it'd be a big help.

Helix,

There are current ongoing threads about the OD boxes in the drivetrain B Board here. Being a current topic that might get you quicker results than waiting for replies here. Check them out and you will probably find exactly the info you need.

OD units are a hot item these days among us do it yourself shifters.

You might like the SM465 better with a 3;73 rear. Not sure if it's cheaper to R&R tranny or rear end.
