Has anyone seen or heard of an Ellis Dualpower Intake Manifold (x2 1Brl.) for Chevy 6 cylinder Engines? I think it for 216,235,261. But are the 216's different from the 235 and 261? It has no heat ports, it has plugs in to the intake runner at each end of the carburetor. "This will not work to pre heat the Manifold from the exhaust" or will it? What do I do It was given to me I would like to use it on my 261 for my rebuild of my 54 Chevy. P/U

Those plugs are vacumn ports. In my opinion there is no need for heat riser here in Texas. I have tried them both ways and while not using one requires slightly different carb. jetting, I feel the intake runs much cooler on these Texas super-heat days and I can get better mileage and performance. I agree with Paul. Use it. Ellis is a good intake. I know the experts say use heat and vacuum advance. In my youth I had a full load 261 in a 55 sedan that my sister drove in high school here in northen Ca. while I was in the Army No problems. If a little is good more is better and too much is just right. Rick
