There's a couple on eBay now for $600 each. A triple carb intake just went for $650.

It would be nice if someone reproduced these instead of copies of Fentons. This type is really better than having to have water hook-ups for the intake manifold.

I actually thought it might go higher . . . .
I casually asked the price on a NOS one at the Pomona swap meet a while back and almost spit coffee on the guy when he said $1200.00! !
I didn't realize it was an original early Corvette piece . . . .

I have one that was on my 54 chev truck forever. I took it off probably 25 years ago for tube headers and it has been on a shelf every since. Never thought it could bring that kind of money. A year or 2 ago, I probably would have jumped on $100. Glad I kept it. May need to go back to it soon.

I saw one sell (on e-bay)for almost $1,000 last year.
What makes them so rare is that they were only made for one 'model year' (54) which began selling in the fall of l953.
These cars (complete) are now worth over $100,000. Some guy has 2 with consecutive serial #'s for sale for a 'quarter mil'.
Only 1400 were made in the 'first run' (summer of 53).
Who would have ever thought??

http://www.selectric.org/55chevy/soup.html Check out this article. They recommended buying them over the parts counter way back when. Read through and you will laugh at prices back then.

Wow!
That brings back some memories.
I remember that issue too. At the time I had a 46 coupe with a 252" & a Cyclone tri-power (a Nicson clone).
A 261" was impossible to get after that came out as everyone wanted them & they were just 2yr. old then.
