For many years auto parts stores offered fit all heaters for sale. They had names like Southwind and Hades and many more.J.C.Whitney and Western Auto were a couple of the retailers.Auto parts stores may still have them for sale. The heaters were nothing more than a box with a heater core and a fan and motor. Also they had a couple of fold open vents and a couple of outlets for windshield defroster hoses. Why not just make your own.You only need a few tools like a drill,a screwdriver or two.Sheetmetal shears and a Poprivit tool.Go to your local wrecking yard and pick up a heater core and motor with fan.You should be able to make something in a couple of hours.Anybody can buy something, but if you build it,you have something to be proud of.

One late model heater setup that can workout well in the older vehicles is one from a late 70's or early 80's (not sure on years) Nissan truck or possibly an early 80's compact Dodge/ Mitsu. Arrow trucks.
My Dad is using a Nissan one in his '46 truck. Doesn't use all of that stupid plastic ductwork. Just a self contained unit. I think the dimensions are about 16" tall, by 12" wide, by 8" deep. Heat and defrost, not sure if they came with A/C or not. Local yards usually want $20-$35 for one.
