Inliners International Forums General Discussion Electrical Negative drain

I recently installed a new wiring harness on my 1951 chevy. 235 switched to 12 volts and swaped generator for alternator. once all wires were hooked up i tested to see if there was a drain on the negative side and there was. i started to trace were it might be coming from and it seems to be that when i disconnect the wire on the alternator that goes from #2 terminal to the "bat" terminal the negative drain goes away. need help on how to fix. thanks.

Without seeing this, it may be the one that should be broken by the ignition switch.

Check the wiring diagram in a Motors Manual.
