I have a 51 ford coupe, need to know if anyone has any ideal if there is an HEI dist. made for a 226 flat head six cylinder? Please advised, Thanks

you can keep your distributor stock-looking and replace the points with a Petronix electronic conversion kit. along with a matching coil you can have a hot spark and never have to deal with points again.
i've seen GM HEI distributors machined and modified for MOPAR sixes, so they probably be set up for your engine, too. however, the cost probably would be significent!

Dennis is right, you could do that. You live in a mild climate & that car is 6V with 7-1 compression and nothing really would be gained. I would look elsewhere to spend your hard earned $$. Good luck.

I had "The Pit Stop" in Gary, Texas modify the stock distributor in my '51 tudor flathead six. He converted a Crane electronic ignition that was originally made for a V8. It allowed me to keep my 6 volt pos. ground which I wanted to do at the time. I have had it in my car for about 10 years and 30,000 miles without a hint of problems. Their number is 903-685-2531.
