For a 66 Chevy II -- I'm really brain dead on this one, but does anyone know how I can identify which connectors in my instrument panel under the dash are for the light bulbs? Is there more than one? The left (driver's) side is lit but the right side isn't. Very dim. Can see the fuel gauge, but speedometer is hard to see at night. Fuze looks good.

Check the lamps. Someone may have put the wrong size in there. Or; there may be a poor ground on one side.

The Chevy II is like the Nova, Larry may know more about the dash etc.

Good luck. \:\)

Greetings . . .

A wiring diagram would probably be the best way to figure this out.

The Old Car Manual Project only goes through '65:

Rock Auto has got one for five bucks:

Well; Ya can't beat that deal. \:D

The dash (instrument cluster) may have an early version of a 'printed' circuit (no wires). Change the lamps & "wiggle" the sockets when installing.

Good luck. \:\)

Well, gents, I got 'em. Next time though, I'm hiring a contortionist! Ha! There are two square, 3" X 3" plates up under the dash, held in place to the instrument panel with two little 1/4" Hex screws. One where the in-dash clock would be, and one where the fuel gauge is. In fact the fuel gauge is attached to it. There is a bulb on the plate and another bulb up inside of there once the plate is removed. It was fun!
