I've got an opportunity to pick up a practically new Jeep 4.6L stroker motor built by Golen Engine Service out of New Hampshire. Questions:
-What does anyone know about Golen?
-What driveline could I bolt up to this unit that would work in a T-bucket/ I'd like to run a manual tranny.
-This is fuel injected--anything I should look out for? (My only experience is with carbed' engines--guess that makes me an old-timer!)
ANy help you guys can lend me would really be appreciated, as I'm going to haave to make a decision on this particular engine in two weeks or so.
Thanks,

Cabbie,

This is an interesting situation. Hoping to find an advisor for you, I looked in an issue of The 12 Port News. However, there's no one listed as an expert on the AMC....now Chrysler/Jeep engines. I've had a couple of older AMC vehicles and got some pretty good preformance out of them (258 Rambler/Gremlin)but that wouldn't relate to your project. I used all AMC stuff available at the time.(1970s)

Sorry I couldn't help you, but hope you will compile the data you learn, so maybe others can benefit from your efforts.

Hey, someone has to be the first!

Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

Dennis-
Thanks for the input. I'll hang here hoping for information for a while until I go and inspect this engine for myself. It really sounds like a strong unit, but I just don't know much about AMC/Jeep/Chrysler stuff. Do you think that I could finf much AMC stuff that would bolt to it in the boneyards? Like a 4 or 5-speed manual tranny & clutch?
Thanks,
Jim

I don't know about golen, but I thought there was a T-5 in the Jeep family somewhere (with the shifter on the top cover too). But maybe I'm full of it today . You might post the trans question in Drive Train. There might be someone there that knows.

Golen advertises in most of the 4 wheel drive magazines as a Jeep replacement/upgrade motor. Contact them to see how far you can go.
