Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about crane cams & some of their older cam specs? A while ago I was given the cam that my uncle used in my grandmother's ('62?) falcon with a 200. The part # is 510041. I was also given a set of adjustable hi-lift rocker arms that go with it. Supposedly the cam is for solid lifters? The part # doesn't show up on the crane website. Though the cam has been used, it does appear to be in good shape & I'd kinda like to use it in my '65 200, if anything for nostalgic reasons. He used to race that car against big-block V8s (& win!). Any info would be great. Thanks.

Hi there 63red,

I hope you don't mind a Chevy guy helping you out.
I have a 1973 Crane catalog that lists that cam as having an S-264 grind.
It shows 264 advertised duration, 220 duration @.050", lift on both valves is .434", and it is a solid lifter cam. Hot lash is .016" Int, .018" Exh.

Crane describes it as having good idle and low end torque

Crane's lifters for that cam are part number 51500, the valve springs have part number 99850.

Someone at Crane ought to be able to cross the spring info for you if the numbers have been changed over the years.

Good Luck,
Mike

Hey no worries Mike, inline is in line for me! Thanks for the help. I did call them, a little bit ago & have gotten an e-mail with the specs. However, it seems to be an attachment that my computer doesn't reconize (either that or the computer operator isn't that great with computers...). I'll try it again.
