has anyone used used a Clifford 4bbl intake on a 235 with Fentons? If so what carb did you use or what carb is best to use?

Does the Clifford intake fit with Fentons? Does it work well? How does this setup compare to using an offenhauser dual intake setup?

I'm currently running a leaky rochester singel barrel w/ stock intake and Fentons.

Have you tried talking to Clifford or Patricks?

I haven't used one, but it's my understanding that the newer style ones for water heat will not work with fentons, not sure about the older style. As for carb, a small 4bbl like a 390 Holley, or a small WCFB or Rochester square bore might work well. A 2GC 2bbl from a 283/307 could also be used.

A properly setup 2X1 setup will perform similar to the above 4bbl setup. It's mostly a question of what do you want it to look like when you're done, and how much you are willing to monkey around with carbs.

As for leaks around the bowl on a 1bbl Rochester, try using a new gasket and use a VERY small amount of Hylomar sealer on both side of the gasket. You want to avoid alot of squeeze out. DON'T use silicone.

I did talk to Cliffors and they said their intake wouldn't work with Fentons with out modification.
I expect all that is needed is some shaving, but I just wondered if anyone had tried.

How will an offy dual intake with 2 staged 2bbls perform at low rpm. My single rochester does pretty well off the block so i don't wanna lose that. I thought I had a line on a Clifford intake for cheap but the guy changed his mind so it seems like the offy 2x1 is a cheaper option since 4bbl carbs are pretty expensive. I want trouble free driving though so how high maintenance is a 2x1 setup?
