Well, spent $1700.00 so far on engine. Should be on dyno in a week or two.
Steel crank, cryogenically treated rods (?), forged pistons, .030 over bore, solid roller lifters, manly custom 7/16" pushrods, crane roller rocker arms, BBC tulip valves (cut down..I forget the size  ), welding/epoxy and porting in head, everything is balanced and blueprinted.
That's what it was, he is just freshening it up with line bore and new bearings, rehone and new rings, new valve guides. Not sure of power, hoping he's right, he predicts at least 350hp!
Oh yeah, I forgot the homemade ram intake and 750 AFB competition series carb. The headers are 1.75" primaries 24" long with 2 1/2" collectors 14" long.
Bought a new powerglide, old one was almost gone. (Art carr 1500.00) Getting the converter for Christmas! haha

This is a great new hobby, however I've spent going on $10,000 for a couple dozen passes.
(and the wife complained about the plane) :p

Only downside I guess is that the chassis hasn't been started yet.

More when I get back.

What exactly was welded/epoxied on the head?

Whats the camshaft specs?

Whats the compression ratio?

How about some pictures of that intake?

I would hope it makes 350 hp... \:\)

Sorry about the questions but this interests me. \:\)

Good luck

It's an Isky custom camshaft with .550 lift on the intake lobes and .565 lift on the exh lobes and 310 duration intake and 330 on the exh.
The compression is 11.00 to one, but that was approximate he said.
He said I can't run just regular street gas in it, but I was. Two of the pistons show signs of detonation. Don't ask what that looked like because I have no idea.
He said for the dyno he will be using VP12 or cp12 or something like that, racing gas anyway. He said I could use the half barrel of aviation fuel I had left over for the piper.

I had to post because I forgot all the questions! haha.

"The head was welded up and epoxied to move the ports around so it would flow more air."

.....uh huh I said....and that means...."more air is more power".

Thanks

Would you have any specifics on what was epoxied/welded and why?

I know increased flow but I would like to know what was reshaped and why it was a restriction to flow?

You wouldn't wanna PM or e-mail me the timing events on that cam would ya? \:\)

Thanks again.
