i have a 300 six and a trans from a 79 lincoln it is 400 c6 i think not out yet. will it bolt up to the 300?

I'm afraid not.
The 300 shares a BH pattern with the SBF, 351W and 351C, The 351M and the 400 share the same BH pattern as the 385 series (429/460.)

thanks i will pull it and put the motor and trans in the parts stash. i think i have some small block ford stuff comming in.
