Will a flywheel from a 218 Dodge six be balanced the same as a large one from a 265 truck engine? Are all Dodge flat sixes balanced the same? Happy New Year to all.....
I put the heavier flywheel on a 230 and it didn't affect it at all. I had the rotating assembly balanced,later. But, the early 4 bolt flywheel's are some lighter. I don't know how much. Hope this helps.
The patterns are the same. The four bolt crank will bolt to a six bolt flywheel. The opposite is also true. When I first got mine it had a four bolt flywheel bolted to a six bolt crank.
