I installed duel 2 bbl carters on an offy manifold and It dosen't seem to be creating enough vacuum to advance the distributer?/ any IDEAS?
This is the first duel intake and fenton header set up that I have attmpted and I'm not altogether sure I have it right

Dear KY;

Well the first thing is to put a guage on it & see.

You could spray some WD-40 around where the intake bolts to the head & see if the leak is there.

You did put the steel rings in that seal the intake to the head?

Your vacume advance line runs off the front carb and you plug the opening in the rear.

some carburators dont have enough vacuum to run the vac. advance...mine has no more than 1 inch of pressure when i rev it up...what u need to try then is hook up the vac advance hose to the intake manifold..timing may have to be retarded when u do this...but it will run a lot smoother...


got my 78 merc with a 250 I6 and i love it.
